Câmara Técnica de Resíduos Sólidos da ABES-SP participa de fórum internacional realizado em Curitiba

A engenheira Roseane Garcia Lopes de Souza, diretora da ABES-SP e coordenadora das Câmaras Técnicas de Resíduos Sólidos e Saúde Pública da entidade, participou na segunda-feira, 12 de junho, do 8º Fórum Internacional de Resíduos Sólidos – Ecos da Sardenha 2017, em Curitiba, no Paraná. Roseane participou do painel “Resíduos Sólidos e Recursos Hídricos: aspectos de engenharia, saúde e meio ambiente”, juntamente com Francisco Oliveira, da Ecos da Natureza/FRAL, Jussara Cabral Cruz, da UFSM/ABRH, Cleverson Vitorio Andreoli, da Sanepar, e Cristine Santos, da ULBRA.

Com o tema “Resíduos Sólidos e Recursos Hídricos – as grandes consequências de cada atitude”, o 8º Fórum Internacional de Resíduos Sólidos (FIRS) acontece até esta quarta-feira, 14, na Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná – UTFPR. Em sua palestra, Roseane fez um panorama das condições de saneamento e de saúde desde o século IX, quando o ambiente urbano era contaminado pelos excrementos, resíduos e esgotos. “Naquela ocasião ainda não havia conhecimento cientifico para relacionar doenças decorrente da falta de saneamento”, destacou.

“No cenário atual, a Organização Mundial de Saúde (OMS) aponta que 21% da carga global de doenças são relacionadas ao saneamento ambiental, sendo que destes, em 48% dos casos a falta de saneamento básico é responsável pelas doenças na população. Índices altos e alarmantes quando comparados com as estruturas urbanas projetadas e a disponibilidade das tecnologias para manejo de esgotos e resíduos sólidos”, pontuou a engenheira.

Roseane ressaltou a necessidade de buscar sempre o conhecimento cientifico para a aplicabilidade nas operações unitárias de água, esgoto, drenagem e resíduos, visando a uma gestão de risco ambiental e de saúde.

O FIRS é um evento técnico e científico de relevância nacional. “A organização está de parabéns pela abordagem do tema “resíduos sólidos e recursos hídricos”, pois embora essas áreas se relacionem, ainda há separação entre as áreas de resíduos sólidos, abastecimento de água e recursos hídricos. Eventos específicos que relacionam as áreas é sempre importante e um meio de divulgação para toda a comunidade cientifica, empresarial, pública e do terceiro setor”, observa a engenheira.
