ABES-CE participa da II Jornada sobre Cidades e Mudanças Climáticas

O diretor da ABES-CE, João José Hiluy (Prof. Dr. do Centro de Tecnologia da Universidade Federal do Ceará – UFC), e o ex-presidente e atual representante junto ao Conselho Diretor, Francisco Humberto de Carvalho Jr.  (Engenheiro Civil, integrante da Prefeitura de Fortaleza, Doutor em Saneamento Ambiental e Professor do Instituto Federal do Ceará), participarão da II Jornada sobre Cidades e Mudanças Climáticas, que será promovida em Fortaleza nos dias 24 e 25 de fevereiro.

A II Jornada sobre Cidades e Mudanças Climáticas pretende construir, neste momento pós COP21, boas práticas, iniciativas e ferramentas regionais disponíveis para as cidades brasileiras e o caminho a ser trilhado para que as variáveis climáticas sejam incorporadas ao desenvolvimento urbano no país com ambição e escala, a partir do acordo para aprofundar as discussões sobre o papel das cidades no enfrentamento às mudanças climáticas no Brasil.

João José Hiluy ressalta que o evento acontece em um momento crucial. “Como sequenciamento da COP 21, nas diversas instâncias regionais, estaduais e municipais, a realização da Jornada sobre Cidades e Mudanças Climáticas reveste-se de fundamental importância, pois são exatamente nesses diversos ambientes, especialmente no caso de Fortaleza, grande conglomerado urbano, que as diretrizes e ações estabelecidas no Fórum Mundial direcionadas às diversas cidades sejam incorporadas como elementos indispensáveis para o desenvolvimento urbano”, afirma.

O professor acrescenta, ainda, que “o conjunto de temas relacionados ao meio ambiente, encontram atualmente momento bastante favorável, sobretudo a partir do Plano Fortaleza 2040, de modo a que essas iniciativas sejam efetivamente consideradas para a promoção de Desenvolvimento Sustentável, e para o enfrentamento das questões de mudanças climáticas.”
