MMA e Caixa lançam edital de R$ 10 milhões para compostagem

O Fundo Nacional do Meio Ambiente (FNMA) e o Fundo Socioambiental (FSA) da Caixa lançaram, nesta terça-feira, 12 de setembro, edital de apoio a projetos de compostagem em municípios ou consórcios públicos intermunicipais que atuem na gestão de resíduos sólidos. No total, serão R$ 10 milhões para projetos no valor mínimo R$ 500 mil e máximo de até R$ 1 milhão. Acesse o Edital nº 01/2017.

“Pela primeira vez, teremos um edital específico para os municípios tratarem a fração orgânica dos resíduos, alinhados com a Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos”, destacou o secretário-executivo do MMA, Marcelo Cruz. Segundo o secretário de Recursos Hídricos e Qualidade Ambiental do ministério, Jair Tannús, o principal parceiro do FNMA é o Fundo Socioambiental da Caixa. “O compromisso da Caixa com a sustentabilidade já rendeu investimentos de R$ 54 milhões em projetos ambientais com o MMA”, afirmou Osvaldo Bruno Cavalcante, diretor-executivo da Caixa.

As propostas poderão ser apresentadas, até o dia 11 de outubro, por municípios ou consórcios públicos intermunicipais em todo o território nacional que atuem na gestão de resíduos sólidos. Interessados podem participar de evento de capacitação de proponentes que será oferecido pela FSA da Caixa em parceria com o FNMA no dia 27 de setembro, das 9h às 18h. Poderão participar até dois representantes por instituição. Para se inscrever, basta enviar um e-mail para o endereço eletrônico fnma@mma.gov.br com o assunto: Capacitação Edital 01/2017. O curso será no Edifício Marie Prendi, na 505 Norte, em Brasília.

Compostagem

A compostagem é uma alternativa tecnológica de reciclagem de resíduos orgânicos ainda pouco explorada no Brasil. Por ser um processo relativamente simples e com vasta gama de aplicações, desde a escala domiciliar até a escala industrial, são diversas as possibilidades de políticas públicas que promovam esta prática e reduzam a quantidade de resíduos orgânicos enviados para disposição final.

A segregação na fonte dos resíduos em três frações (orgânicos, recicláveis secos e rejeitos) tem se mostrado uma prática de gestão muito eficiente e salutar para garantir a produção de composto de boa qualidade, boa aceitação por agricultores e baixíssimo risco de contaminação. A associação da prática de compostagem com a promoção do uso do composto, em projetos de agricultura urbana e periurbana ou de apoio à agricultura familiar, também é exemplo de sucesso na garantia da continuidade desta prática, fechando o ciclo da gestão dos resíduos orgânicos.
