Estão abertas as inscrições para o primeiro Simpósio Nacional sobre Dessalinização e Reúso: Viabilizando Alternativas à Escassez Hídrica. O evento será promovido pela Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental – ABES, por meio de sua Câmara Temática de Dessalinização e Reúso, coordenada por Renato Giani Ramos, na capital cearense no dia 23 de março. Inscreva-se aqui. O encontro é também um dos eventos preparatórios rumo ao Congresso ABES Fenasan 2017, o maior Encontro de Saneamento Ambiental das Américas.
O objetivo do encontro, que ocorrerá no Novotel Fortaleza, é debater e incentivar o uso da dessalinização e do reúso, tanto em custo quanto em aplicações, para que sejam opções viáveis na busca de soluções frente s situações de crise hídrica.
De acordo com Álvaro José Menezes da Costa, diretor nacional da ABES, uma das iniciativas mais importantes da entidade, dentro de seu planejamento estratégico, é a busca e apresentação de alternativas de combate à escassez hídrica. “Uma busca não só de modelos de gestão, mas também de modelos operacionais”, ressalta ele, lembrando que “o Nordeste brasileiro enfrenta uma estiagem que já atravessa seis anos, provocando uma seca muito forte”.
A primeira edição do simpósio, conforme explica o engenheiro, visa aprofundar a discussão do tema. “E exibir exemplos práticos de reúso no Brasil, casos de reúso no exterior e também de dessalinização, que possam de fato ser aplicados na realidade nordestina o mais rápido possível”, enfatiza. Segundo Álvaro Menezes, a seca já atinge até as capitais nordestinas. “O risco de colapso é iminente”, alerta.
Ele conta, ainda, que no encontro haverá discussões técnicas, específicas voltadas para “soluções inadiáveis”, como reúso potável indireto e reúso industrial. Estas, além da dessalinização, são possíveis soluções cogitadas para as cidades do Nordeste, de acordo com o engenheiro. “Ter essas alternativas tecnológicas, conhecidas, acessíveis à população, aos gestores públicos e à sociedade em geral faz com que mais rapidamente as autoridades públicas possam tomar suas decisões”, frisa. “E a ABES tem esse papel de levar para a sociedade informações e orientações técnicas que facilitem essa tomada de decisões”, conclui Álvaro Menezes.
Plano Nacional de Reúso
O Brasil, explica o diretor da ABES, tem em andamento um plano de ações para instituir uma Política Nacional de Reúso, que é coordenada pelo Ministério das Cidades e tem como parceiros o Ministério da Integração Nacional; a Agência Nacional de Águas e o Ministério do Meio Ambiente”. Os estudos sobre o tema estão sendo desenvolvidos por duas empresas brasileiras. Em outubro do ano passado ocorreu, em Brasília, no Distrito Federal, um primeiro seminário acerca do assunto. E em abril deste ano haverá um seminário regional no Nordeste, o que, segundo Álvaro Menezes, pode atrair pessoas para o encontro da ABES no mês anterior. “Acreditamos que haverá um interesse muito grande no evento de reúso e dessalinização porque são coisas que se complementam. Esperamos um público muito bom de Fortaleza e de outras cidades do nordeste”, salienta.
