O presidente nacional da ABES, Roberval Tavares de Souza, reuniu-se em São Paulo, no dia 11 de novembro, com a nova presidente da Associação Interamericana de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental (AIDIS), a engenheira mexicana Carmen del Pilar Tello Espinoza. Participaram do encontro Luiz Augusto de Lima Pontes, ex-presidente da entidade, substituído por Carmen, Neri Martin Mendez, presidente eleito para o período 2018/2020, Rosalba Sarafian, vice presidente técnica, e Paulo Robinson da Silva Samuel, tesoureiro geral da AIDIS e membro da diretoria da ABES-RS.

Roberval deu as boas-vindas à nova líder e disponibilizou a ABES, que é o capítulo brasileiro da AIDIS, para promoção dos encontros de alto nível em parceria com a entidade. Também apresentou o Congresso ABES/Fenasan 2017, o maior encontro de Saneamento Ambiental das Américas, que será realizado de 2 a 6 de outubro de 2017 (saiba mais aqui).
