A ABES-PA promove, até esta sexta-feira, 16 de agosto, em Belém, o I Congresso Brasil Norte De Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental, mais um evento preparatório para o Congresso ABES/Fenasan 2017. O tema central do encontro é “Sustentabilidade, Inovação e Desenvolvimento na Amazônia” e vai focar o desenvolvimento sustentável pautado em inovação científica e capacitação de técnicos locais, melhoria da cobertura de serviços de saneamento e educação ambiental.
O evento reuniu cerca de 300 participantes, com presenças do presidente nacional da ABES, Roberval Tavares de Souza, de representantes da ABES de seções estaduais das regiões Norte e Nordeste do Brasil, como Bárbara Cavalcanti (Pernambuco) e Álvaro Menezes da Costa (Alagoas), além de um grande número de jovens, muitos deles integrantes do Programa Jovens Profissionais do Saneamento, como o coordenador nacional Alvaro Diogo.
O presidente da ABES-PA, David Franco Lopes, ressalta a importância do encontro para pensar as questões regionais da Amazônia. “Muitas vezes o ribeirinho mora na frente do rio e não tem acesso a água potável. Ou, em outro caso, o Marajó, uma área extensa, que é alagada pela influência da maré, não consegue abastecimento de água. E muitas vezes as questões técnicas levantadas para a região não conseguem suprir a necessidade, seja por distância, seja por capacitação técnica. Por isso precisamos ter um olhar interno aos problemas, pensando não só na inovação tecnológica, no desenvolvimento sustentável, mas também na responsabilidade socioambiental.”
David frisa que existem 25 milhões de moradores na Amazônia e que estes precisam ter acesso ao desenvolvimento e a recursos, mas garantindo as particularidades da região, como as grandes distâncias, os rios. “É isso que o congresso veio buscar: agregar profissionais, academia, empresas, serviço público, órgãos legisladores para vislumbrar a possibilidade de desenvolvimento, crescimento regional, mas de forma sustentável.”
Esse desafio, como afirma, foi cumprido com a realização do I Congresso. “Conseguimos mais de 300 participantes e foi um sucesso a integração da comunidade de diversos estados do Norte e Nordeste e de todo o Brasil. Esperamos que este seja a semente e que ocorram muitos outros, em Manaus, Macapá, Tocantins, Boa Vista, Porto Velho, Rio Branco, e até – por que não? – nas capitais do Nordeste. Os pensamentos regionais têm que ser focados nos problemas da região, com soluções locais e soluções externas adaptadas. A semente foi plantada com sucesso e esperamos que a população também possa fazer proveito das possibilidades que o Congresso oferece.”
Jovens Profissionais
A presença de jovens no Congresso também foi marcante. O coordenador nacional dos Jovens Profissionais do Saneamento apresentou o programa, que está se expandindo pelo país.
Para a engenheira Patrícia Müller, de Santa Catarina, bolsista pesquisadora que trabalha com tecnologias de saneamento e que apresentou trabalho técnico no Congresso sobre iniciativa desenvolvida na reserva Amanã, no Amazonas, foi uma oportunidade excelente para a construção de novas ideias. “Foi muito produtivo, muitas pessoas colaboraram com ideias, ajudando a construir o trabalho e eu vim pra falar sobre os desafios. O evento é importante, principalmente para mantermos o debate e para termos esta oportunidade de conversar e de construir novas soluções para esta região que tanto precisa de profissionais engajados. Se nós nos unirmos, conseguiremos encontrar soluções que a região precisa. Estou muito feliz de participar do Congresso. Espero que os resultado sejam positivos e que este seja o primeiro de muitos encontros.”
