As Câmaras Temáticas da ABES, que vêm desenvolvendo um trabalho magnífico em suas respectivas áreas de interesse e colocando em pauta questões prioritárias do Saneamento Ambiental e do Meio Ambiente, terão, neste novo Biênio (2016/18), que se iniciou com a posse da Diretoria em julho, papel fundamental no cumprimento dos objetivos do Planejamento Estratégico da ABES para os próximos dois anos.  As discussões ocorridas em julho para elaboração do Planejamento Estratégico da Associação tiveram participação ativa das Câmaras e as primeiras iniciativas já começam a ser implementadas.

Coordenadores de CTs da ABES integraram, por três dias, as discussões para elaboração do PE com a Diretoria Nacional e os presidentes de Seções Estaduais. Das reuniões resultaram propostas de elaboração de eventos regionais – ampliando a participação das CTs e criando mais espaços de debates e troca de conhecimento, o que também deverá fortalecer as Seções, que demonstraram grande interesse em promover encontros trabalhando em parceria.

Outra novidade é que este ano a ABES deve ganhar mais três Câmaras: Meio Ambiente, Saúde Pública e Comunicação, as duas primeiras tendo sido aprovadas na reunião realizada em julho e a última anunciada no 28º Congresso Brasileiro de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental – CBESA, no Rio e Janeiro, em 2015, e em fase de implantação, sob coordenação de Dante Ragazzi Pauli, ex-presidente nacional da ABES.

Além disso, temos um novo coordenador na CT Tratamento de Esgoto: o engenheiro Edgard Faust Filho, da ABES Seção Paraná.

O trabalho coordenado entre Câmaras Temáticas e Seções Estaduais da ABES, como prevê nosso Planejamento Estratégico, vai ao encontro dos preparativos da ABES para a realização do 29º Congresso Brasileiro de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental, que será promovido de 3 a 5 de outubro de 2017, em São Paulo, juntamente com o 28º Encontro Técnico AESabesp e a 28ª Feira Nacional de Saneamento e Meio Ambiente – FENASAN. Os três eventos acontecerão em edição única e especial no espaço São Paulo Expo, constituindo o maior encontro saneamento e meio ambiente já realizado no continente americano.
