Presidente da ABES-SP participa na França de reunião preparatória do 8º Fórum Mundial da ​Á​gua

O presidente da ABES-SP, Alceu Guérios Bittencourt, participou, entre os dias 22 e 24 de novembro, em Marselha, na França, de uma série de reuniões na sede do Conselho Mundial da Água. Os encontros do VIII Comitê Internacional de Direção do Fórum Mundial da Água (ISC) e Comissões fazem parte do processo preparatório para a edição 2018 do evento, que será realizada em Brasília/DF.

A ABES integra o Comitê Organizador do Fórum. Alceu Guérios Bittencourt é um dos quatro membros brasileiros do Grupo Temático do Fórum (saiba mais aqui).

Em 22 e 23 de novembro, as 5 Comissões do 8º Fórum reuniram-se para desenvolver os preparativos para Brasília em 2018 focando o fortalecimento de articulações e a coordenação entre os vários processos do Fórum, a fim de otimizar a coerência no programa geral do evento.

Antes das reuniões, a Comissão Temática lançou um convite aberto a manifestações de interesse para todos os interessados em se envolver no Processo Temático, como coordenadores temáticos ou de tópicos. Os pedidos recebidos foram revistos pela Comissão Temática durante a  reunião em Marselha e uma lista preliminar de candidatos foi apresentada ao ISC.

Em 24 de novembro, o ISC convocou sua terceira reunião, durante a qual foram realizadas discussões importantes sobre o roteiro e orçamento do Fórum e os documentos apresentados pelas diversas Comissões do Fórum, bem como o quadro temático final.

Fórum Mundial da Água

imagesO Fórum Mundial da Água contribui para o diálogo do processo decisório sobre o tema em nível global, visando o uso racional e sustentável deste recurso. Por sua abrangência política, técnica e institucional, o Fórum tem como uma de suas características principais a participação aberta e democrática de um amplo conjunto de atores de diferentes setores, traduzindo-se em um evento de grande relevância na agenda internacional.

O Fórum é organizado a cada três anos pelo Conselho Mundial da Água e pelo país e cidade anfitriões. Ao todo, já ocorreram sete edições, as quais foram distribuídas estrategicamente em países de diferentes continentes.

Essa distribuição busca representar as diferentes temáticas de usos e de gestão do recurso água. A última edição do evento aconteceu em 2015, na Coreia do Sul, em duas cidades: Daegu e Gyeongbuk.

Em 2014, a candidatura do Brasil foi selecionada e Brasília a escolhida como cidade-sede do evento. Desse modo, o Brasil sediará em 2018 a 8ª edição do Fórum, tendo como tema central ‘Compartilhando Água’, e o evento ocorrerá pela primeira vez no hemisfério sul.
