A Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental – ABES promoverá, nesta quinta-feira, 1º de junho, em São Paulo, o lançamento do livro “SABESP – Enfrentando crises, deixando legados e conquistas”. A cerimônia será realizada, às 16h30, no auditório do Espaço Vida, na unidade Ponte Pequena da Sabesp (Av. do Estado, 561).
Editado pela BB Editora, o livro, de autoria de Rafael Silvestre, é uma homenagem ao espetacular trabalho da SABESP na superação dos desafios durante a crise hídrica que atingiu a Região Sudeste entre 2014 e 2016. Por dois anos, a região, em especial o Estado de São Paulo, viveu uma inédita falta de chuvas. Na região metropolitana de São Paulo, em que a SABESP abastece a capital paulista e 35 dos 39 municípios, a luta pelo consumo consciente, no abastecimento, de fato, compreendia atender a cerca de 20 milhões de habitantes. Cinquenta e nove municípios do interior e litoral, atendidos pela companhia, também viveram situações alarmantes devido à seca.
Neste período, o que se percebeu foi uma forte transformação operacional nas diretrizes e estratégias da SABESP, sob o viés do equilíbrio frente à adversidade, que resultou, ao final, em um dos maiores cases de sucesso do mundo frente a problemas climáticos.
“Além dos esforços empreendidos por todos os profissionais da Companhia, um legado a ser destacado foi o engajamento da sociedade, que atendeu ao chamado da SABESP e adquiriu novos hábitos de consumo consciente e uma maior preocupação em relação aos recursos hídricos”, frisa o presidente nacional da ABES, Roberval Tavares de Souza. “Como profissional da SABESP e presidente da ABES, é um orgulho poder homenagear os profissionais do Saneamento que se dedicaram a enfrentar a crise hídrica numa iniciativa inédita que marcou a história recente de nosso país.”
