O presidente da ABES Seção Pernambuco (ABES-PE), Sergio Xavier dos Santos, participou, nesta terça, 10 de abril, da abertura da quarta edição do “Seminário Internacional de Tecnologias Avançadas para Tratamento de Água e Efluentes”, que é promovido pela aQuamec e conta com o apoio da ABES. O encontro, que reunirá até o dia 19 de abril especialistas internacionais em diferentes cidades do Brasil e da Argentina, aconteceu na sede da Companhia Pernambucana de Saneamento – Compesa, em Recife/PE.
Em sua apresentação, Sergio Xavier falou sobre a importância do tema para atualização e análise técnica e econômica de soluções a serem adotadas, comparando com as tecnologias disponíveis e já utilizadas, diante das constantes mudanças atuais.
Ele abordou também a MP do Saneamento. “Alertei a todos sobre a luta da ABES em todo o Brasil contra a medida provisória que o Governo Federal pretende implantar, em detrimento da Lei 11.445/2007 do Saneamento, sem qualquer discussão com a sociedade”, diz. “Isso causará o colapso do subsídio cruzado, com a falência do saneamento nos municípios mais pobres, pois com a consulta pública as operadoras iriam buscar participar apenas nós municípios superavitários”, completa.
Sérgio comentou, ainda, sobre a pretensão de colocar o Saneamento na ANA, “que não tem o conhecimento e experiência já desenvolvida. A ANA poderia dar um apoio com sua expertise na Regulação”, destaca. “Conclamei a todos a divulgarem no meio técnico e sociedade em geral, inclusive aos Deputados e Prefeitos para formarem uma oposição à Medida Provisória”, conta.
Segundo o presidente da ABES-PE, o evento foi bastante concorrido, sendo dividido em dois auditórios da nova sede da Compesa. Empresas apresentaram durante o dia experiências e produtos do Canadá, Reino Unido, Finlândia, EUA, entre outros.
O evento passou também por Fortaleza, no Ceará, na segunda dia 9.
