O encontro, que vai debater o tema “Água e energia no saneamento: práticas para a redução de desperdício”, tem como objetivo potencializar a atuação acerca da engenharia empregada nas práticas para a redução de desperdício água de modo racional para efetivamente sejam obtidos os melhores resultados com o mínimo de investimentos. ABES Notícias – Qual a importância do evento e da discussão sobre o tema água e energia, focando nas práticas para a redução de desperdício”?

Ricardo Röver Machado – O tema água e energia é cada vez mais atual, e torna-se imprescindível no cenário econômico-financeiro que o país enfrenta hoje. De fato, os recursos financeiros estão cada vez mais escassos, e são crescentes as necessidades da população. A gestão de perdas de água e a eficiência energética permitem um maior aproveitamento dos sistemas existentes, prolongando a sua vida útil ao mesmo tempo que permitem um melhor atendimento. Eventos como esse trazem experiências bem-sucedidas e muita informação, permitindo a multiplicação do conhecimento para benefício de todos.

ABES Notícias – Qual é o cenário do Brasil em relação a perdas de água, considerando a crise de escassez hídrica que atingiu algumas regiões do país entre 2014 e 2015?

Ricardo Röver Machado – A grande crise hídrica que assolou a região sudeste e que até hoje traz suas consequências, trazendo à sociedade uma preocupação que se reflete na cobrança de eficiência por parte do poder público. Houve com isso uma maior conscientização com relação à necessidade de combater as perdas de água, alavancando mais investimentos em tecnologia e controle operacional dos sistemas.

ABES Notícias – De que forma essa crise afetou a questão da gestão e controle de perdas e como o setor de saneamento está lidando com a situação?

Ricardo Röver Machado – Houve uma maior conscientização quanto à necessidade de operarem-se os sistemas com mais conhecimento e tecnologia. Hoje vemos as empresas preocuparem-se muito com a capacitação dos seus profissionais e aparelhamento tecnológico, como por exemplo equipamentos de telemetria (para controle à distância da operação), cadastro por georreferenciamento, controle de pressões e vazões dos sistemas.

ABES Notícias – Quais são os principais desafios, neste sentido? 

Ricardo Röver Machado – Neste momento, o nosso maior desafio é a obtenção de recursos financeiros para investir em gestão operacional. Não temos dúvidas que os recursos investidos revertem não apenas em benefício das empresas (representado pela grande redução de custos operacionais), bem como à sociedade melhor atendida, e ao meio ambiente. Nosso desafio é conseguir captar os recursos já previstos no PLANSAB para a gestão operacional.

ABES Notícias – Quais são as expectativas para o evento?

Ricardo Röver Machado – Neste evento teremos profissionais muito capacitados compartilhando experiências e conhecimento. Através das empresas participantes teremos oportunidades maravilhosas de conhecer as melhores tecnologias disponíveis e práticas de sucesso, que certamente serão benéficas a todos os que tiverem oportunidade de participar.
