ABES-RS participa em Porto Alegre de Audiência Pública sobre a Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos

Mario Saffer, conselheiro da ABES Seção Rio Grande do Sul (ABES-RS), representará a entidade na Audiência Pública que discutirá a Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos – PNRS. O encontro é promovido pela Frente Parlamentar Ambientalista e pela Comissão de Saúde e Meio Ambiente da Assembleia Legislativa do Estado e ocorrerá em Porto Alegre, no dia 31 de maio, às 10h.

Esta é a primeira vez que haverá uma audiência pública no Rio Grande do Sul. A ideia é aproveitar a Semana do Meio Ambiente (a data comemorativa é 5 de junho), para chamar a atenção de empresários, prefeitos e secretários municipais para o tema, além da população em geral.

A mesa de debates contará com as presenças de Zilda Veloso, diretora do Departamento de Qualidade Ambiental e Gestão de Resíduos do Ministério do Meio Ambiente, e representantes da Secretaria Estadual de Meio Ambiente, do Ministério Público Estadual e da Associação Nacional dos Catadores. O evento terá ainda a participação do Compromisso Empresarial pela Reciclagem – CEMPRE, que reúne empresas que atuam com logística reversa. O CEMPRE apresentará o balanço do primeiro ano de ações do Acordo Setorial das Embalagens previsto na legislação.

Entre os tópicos que serão abordados estão o acordo setorial de embalagens e a participação dos catadores, a importância do fechamento dos lixões, o incremento da reciclagem; a coleta seletiva e o fortalecimento da relação dos empreendimentos de catadores (cooperativas e associações) diretamente com as indústrias de reciclagem.
