O programa Jovens Profissionais do Saneamento – JPS terá uma série de atividades no 32º Congresso da ABES, que acontecerá de 21 a 24 de maio, no Expominas, em Belo Horizonte/MG. Serão quatro atividades ao longo da programação (de 22 a 24) do mais importante evento de saneamento ambiental do Brasil: a Final Nacional do Prêmio Jovem da Água de Estocolmo, que definirá o projeto que representará o Brasil na etapa internacional da competição, na Suécia ; um painel destacando ações e experiências de jovens ao redor do mundo visando o alcance dos ODS (ONU), Olimpíadas JPS e Fórum JPS (confira os detalhes abaixo).
O Congresso da ABES acontece juntamente com a Fitabes – Feira Internacional de Tecnologias de Saneamento Ambiental. Esta edição traz como tema central “Saneamento Ambiental: desafios para a universalização e a sustentabilidade”.

A partir deste ano de 2023 o Prêmio Jovem da Água de Estocolmo (SJWP) passa a integrar a grade de eventos dos Congressos da ABES. A integração de agenda busca promover a relação intergeracional e aproximar estudantes participantes da competição com profissionais de todo o país que atuam nas áreas de meio ambiente e saneamento.

O Fórum configura-se como o encontro nacional do JPS e discute os resultados do programa e os desafios para o futuro do saneamento. O evento ocorre há mais de 6 anos durante os Congressos da ABES. Em 2023, pretende-se apresentar o Censo do programa de jovens profissionais do saneamento da ABES, além do reportar sobre ações, projetos, repercussão na mídia, número de integrantes e o impacto promovido no crescimento do rol de associados da ABES. Discutindo, ainda, os desafios e perspectivas para o futuro do saneamento.
