CT Resíduos Sólidos participa de Encontro Sul-Brasileiro de Engenharia Ambiental e Sanitária em Santa Catarina

Heliana Kátia Tavares Campos é coordenadora da CT Resíduos Sólidos da ABES e presidente do Serviço de Limpeza Urbana - SLU do Distrito Federal.

Evento acontecerá entre os dias 2 e 4 de novembro, em Joinville.

A Câmara Temática de Resíduos Sólidos da Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental – ABES, coordenada por Heliana Katia Tavares Campos, participará do I Encontro Sul-Brasileiro de Engenharia Ambiental e Sanitária, que ocorrerá entre os dias 2 e 4 de novembro, em Joinville/Santa Catarina, na Universidade de Joinville – UNIVILLE. Na ocasião, Kátia Campos fará uma apresentação sobre o tema “Destinação adequada dos resíduos e o cumprimento da legislação, o caso do Distrito Federal”.

O evento – promovido pela Associação Paranaense dos Engenheiros Ambientais e outras entidades – será um preparatório para o IX Simpósio Brasileiro de Engenharia Ambiental – SBEA, que será realizado em Minas Gerais em 2017. Voltado para os profissionais de engenharia sanitária e ambiental, que atuam em várias frentes, o encontro abordará vários temas, divididos em Conferências, Mesas Redondas, Minicursos e Visitas Técnicas.

Resumo da apresentação da CT Resíduos Sólidos, conforme Kátia Campos: O manejo dos resíduos sólidos no Brasil tem evoluído a passos lentos no que diz respeito à redução da sua geração e ao seu tratamento. A passos firmes embora arrastados na evolução da disposição final em aterros sanitários e a passos acelerados no quesito coleta domiciliar, superando o percentual de outros serviços de saneamento como abastecimento de água e em muito a coleta do esgoto. A regionalização da disposição dos resíduos foi o fator que mais contribuiu para o aumento da sua disposição adequada nos últimos anos alcançando o índice de 58%.

No Distrito Federal, os resíduos vêm sendo dispostos em um antigo lixão que recebeu melhorias no cercamento, na limitação dos tipos de resíduos a serem ali dispostos, na introdução do controle de entrada e saída de veículos e pessoas, drenagem e queima de gás metano, drenagem e recirculação de chorume entre outras melhorias. Ainda persistem no local diversas irregularidades e a presença de um grande contingente de catadores de materiais recicláveis.

Atualmente está em fase de conclusão a obra de implantação do Primeiro Aterro Sanitário do Distrito Federal que será inaugurado ainda este ano. Para o ano de 2017 está prevista a conclusão de 5 Instalações de Recuperação de Resíduos a serem operadas pelas organizações de catadores e uma central de comercialização. Dessa forma pretende-se concluir até o final da atual gestão (2015/2018) o processo de cumprimento da legislação federal e local relativa ã gestão dos resíduos sólidos urbanos.
