Nesta sexta-feira, 24 de novembro, foi a vez de Rio Branco, no Acre, receber o Ciclo de Debates “Desafios do Saneamento Ambiental”, que já passou com sucesso por 25 estados do país. Promovido pela Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental – ABES Diretoria, o evento foi realizado no Teatro Universitário da Universidade Federal do Acre – UFAC- Campus Universitário
Na ocasião, o presidente nacional da ABES, Roberval Tavares de Souza, ministrou uma palestra acerca dos 10 anos da Lei de Saneamento e o saneamento na Região Norte e no Acre. O evento contemplou também com um debate sobre o tema “saneamento público ou privado”.
De acordo com Vera Braz, diretora nacional da ABES para a Região Norte, o Ciclo de Debates Desafios do Saneamento no Acre teve muito êxito pelo fato de ser um assunto sem grandes informações em Rio Branco. “As pessoas precisam de conhecimento não só dos números da cidade como também do Acre e da Região Norte. Não havia tanta discussão neste sentido porque só tinha curso de Engenharia Civil. O curso de Engenharia Ambiental começou a funcionar há aproximadamente um ano e meio”, explica ela. “Por isso, agora há pessoas da área começando a estudar e a se interessar pelo tema. Além do mais, no Acre, como em toda a Região Norte, há deficiências, os números de saneamento são péssimos”, ressalta. “Foi um ótimo debate. O presidente nacional da ABES, Roberval Tavares de Souza, foi muito bem recebido. Todos fomos muito bem recebidos. E os participantes ficaram agradecidos”, frisa.
ABES Acre
Vera Braz informou que está sendo formado o núcleo da ABES Acre. Atualmente, a Seção Pará da ABES cobre o estado. Segundo ela, a nova diretoria deverá estar completa em janeiro de 2018.
