Desafios do Saneamento Ambiental: evento promove o fortalecimento das seções estaduais da entidade, afirma a presidente da ABES-PE

A Diretoria Nacional da ABES, em parceria com a seção pernambucana, realizou nesta segunda-feira, 8 de maio, em Recife/PE, mais um encontro de sucesso do Ciclo de Debates “Desafios do Saneamento Ambiental no Brasil”. Cerca de 100 pessoas, entre universitários, profissionais, técnicos da Defesa Civil e representantes de empresas do setor, como a Companhia Pernambucana de Saneamento – Compesa e a Superintendência do Desenvolvimento do Nordeste – Sudene, participaram do encontro, que ocorreu no Auditório da Escola Politécnica de Pernambuco da Universidade Pernambuco – POLI/UPE.

Para a presidente da ABES Seção Pernambuco (ABES-PE), Bárbara Cavalcanti, o evento tem importância singular, que pode ser observada na própria participação do púbico, “que permaneceu no local do início ao fim do evento”. Segundo ela, a iniciativa marca um momento de fortalecimento das seções estaduais da ABES. “Fortalece nossa imagem enquanto instituição, cujas seções não estão separadas. Temos uma interação por que temos um compromisso maior com a qualidade de vida, com a questão ambiental e com a questão que afeta diretamente a saúde pública”, explica. “Sem saneamento não há saúde”, complementa Bárbara.

Conforme ressalta ela, a palestra apresentada pelo presidente nacional da ABES, Roberval Tavares de Souza, além de levar informações e dados importantes acerca do saneamento no Brasil – de cada região e estado -, ainda promove reflexões sobre o tema. Bárbara cita um dos tópicos da apresentação: os 10 anos da Lei de Saneamento, que “atingiu resultados baixos, menores do que do gostaríamos e que trouxe mais frustrações do que alegria”, lamenta.

A presidente da ABES-PE lembra alguns serviços que regrediram, como os aterros sanitários no estado que voltaram a ser lixões. De acordo com ela, a palestra “muito bem apresentada por Roberval Tavares estimula a reflexão e o tema merece atenção especial e tem endereço certo para ser discutido – o Ministério das Cidades, como foi colocado pelo Roberval. Também ficou clara a importância da participação da sociedade nessa questão do saneamento”, destaca.

ABES Itinerante

Bárbara reforça que o encontro foi “salutar e proveitoso que irá repercutir na expansão dos sócios para a ABES-PE”, diz. Vamos dar continuidade ao trabalho através do ABES Itinerante (projeto criado pela seção com o intuito de divulgar a entidade e ampliar o nosso quadro de associados) e do JPS-PE”, afirma.

Nessas ocasiões, conforme explica Bárbara, além de apresentar a ABES são discutidos temas do setor de saneamento. “Foi a maneira que encontramos para sairmos das nossas cadeiras e irmos até as empresas, as universidades instituições – sempre convidamos um colega do estado”, conta. “A ABES-PE vai com seu corpo de associados, técnicos com suas expertises, mas todos ganham com as discussões. Nós nos enriquecemos também”, frisa.

Além disso, segundo Bárbara, os pontos da discussão em cada espaço visitado são devidamente anotados e os especialistas retornam em outro momento para saber do andamento e da evolução da empresa no contexto do tema discutido anteriormente.  “Na oportunidade, aproveitamos para mais uma vez e reforçar a necessidade dessas empresas virem para junto da ABES para se fortalecer e nos fortalecer. Essa é a nossa ideia maior. Acreditamos que temos que cobrar sobre a questão do saneamento, mas temos também temos que contribuir como cidadãos”, conclui Bárbara Cavalcanti.
