Heliana Kátia Campos, diretora da ABES Seção Distrito Federal (ABES-DF) e membro da Câmara Temática de Resíduos Sólidos da entidade, foi a grande vencedora do Prêmio DIRSA 2019 – Divisão de Resíduos Sólidos da Associação Interamericana de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental – AIDIS. A cerimônia de entrega da premiação aconteceu nesta quarta, 22 de maio, em Assunção, no Paraguai, durante o 8° Congresso Interamericano de Resíduos Sólidos. A ABES é o capítulo brasileiro na AIDIS, que reúne todos os países do continente americano.
O Prêmio DIRSA contempla, a cada 2 anos, um especialista que tenha mais de 25 anos de atuação na área e que tenha se destacado nas Américas. “Foi muito emocionante”, lembra Heliana Kátia, que há quase duas quatro décadas se dedica ao tema dos resíduos sólidos.
Ela conta sobre o momento em que recebeu a premiação. “Minha fala baseou-se no agradecimento a todos que compartilhei estes 38 anos de trabalho coletivo e solidário sempre em equipe. Em agradecer os colegas da ABES que fizeram a indicação do meu nome para o prêmio e dizer da satisfação de estar sendo acompanhada pela belíssima e sensacional Orquestra de Recicladores de Cateúra o lixão de Assunção com as crianças filhas de catadores com todos os instrumentos reciclados do lixo”, destaca.
A engenheira falou também da importância do fechamento dos lixões em toda a região interamericana com a inclusão dos catadores contratados e pagos como prestadores de serviços públicos. E relatou aos presentes sobre o fechamento do lixão de Brasilia e da campanha Criança no lixo nunca mais. “Coloquei meu compromisso de continuar nesta luta e com este desafio humano e ambiental e a responsabilidade do setor de resíduos que conhece esta situação a fundo e que tem que buscar soluções urgentes e efetivas”, diz Kátia.
