JPS-SP: integrantes ministram palestras para alunos da Faculdade Oswaldo Cruz

Integrantes do programa Jovens Profissionais do Saneamento – JPS da ABES-SP participaram, no dia 29 de março, de um evento em comemoração ao Dia Mundial da Água (comemorado em 22 de março), promovido pela Faculdade Oswaldo Cruz (FOC), na capital paulista. Na ocasião, o coordenador Thomas Ficarelli e a tecnóloga em Saneamento Ambiental, Giuliana Moreira, falaram sobre o Fórum Mundial da Água, que aconteceu em Brasília entre 18 e 23 de março. Já o engenheiro Ambiental Cleyton Cardoso discorreu acerca do Fórum Alternativo Mundial da Água – FAMA.

O intuito do evento foi apresentar aos estudantes os principais assuntos discutidos e abordagens a respeito das principais questões e desafios enfrentados pela humanidade quanto à gestão hídrica.

Em sua apresentação, Thomas destacou a forma como o FMA foi organizado, suas versões anteriores em outros países e os interesses que motivaram o Brasil a sediá-lo em 2018 e a elaboração do tema “compartilhando água”. O geógrafo explicou os processos pelos quais o fórum foi dividido (Político, Cidadão, Regional e os 9 eixos do processo Temático), a participação da ABES na organização do evento e participações diretas em mesas e palestras. Ele destacou, ainda, a participação do JPS e da articulação com jovens de todo o mundo para tratar de assuntos como formação e capacitação, carreira e oportunidades para jovens e engajamento na gestão hídrica.

Para Thomas, é missão do JPS divulgar e trocar ideias sobre o papel dos jovens no setor e alinhá-los com o que vem discutido nas esferas do governo e em escala local. “Pudemos no FMA trazer um pouco do mundo para o Brasil e agora cabe a nós compartilharmos esse rico conhecimento”, diz. Ele enfatiza, ainda, que os jovens jamais devem se intimidar em participar e questionar pelo fato deles terem menos conhecimento que profissionais veteranos. “A água e o conhecimento são de todos, cabe a todos nós contribuir e devemos aproveitar esses espaços de discussão pois todos temos o direito de falhar”, concluiu. 

Giuliana, que é pesquisadora no Pacific Institute, explanou sobre a participação do CEO Water Mandate e da Rede Brasil do Pacto Global no 8° Fórum Mundial da Água. Ela abordou o papel do setor privado na gestão sustentável da água, destacando o envolvimento e a participação das empresas brasileiras e internacionais no Fórum. “A indústria é fundamental na solução de desafios de escassez de água, uma vez que representa um dos principais setores usuários de água. Muitas empresas brasileiras e internacionais vêm trabalhando em projetos e iniciativas para promover o uso racional da água, a fim de garantir a disponibilidade de água e aumentar a segurança hídrica”, explica ela.

A tecnóloga destacou o “Water Business Day”, evento que ocorreu no dia 18 de março e foi organizado pela Rede Brasil do Pacto Global, em parceria com a Confederação Nacional da Indústria (CNI) e o Conselho Empresarial Brasileiro para o Desenvolvimento Sustentável (CEBDS).

O evento foi correalizado pelo CDP, The CEO Water Mandate e World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). “O Water Business Day foi o primeiro evento empresarial em um Fórum Mundial da Água e teve como objetivo debater o uso sustentável da água pela indústria. Durante o encontro, que reuniu empresas nacionais e internacionais, foram apresentados projetos e iniciativas de sucesso quye estão sendo implementadas para atingir os Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS), especialmente o ODS número 6, que trata de assegurar a disponibilidade e gestão sustentável da água e saneamento para todas e todos”, conta Giuliana

Outro evento importante apresentado por Giuliana, foi o “Collective Action Day: Colaboração para a segurança hídrica no Brasil”, realizado no dia 19 de março. Segundo ela, o evento foi organizado pelo The CEO Water Mandate e pela Rede Brasil do Pacto Global e reuniu representantes dos setores de negócios, sociedade civil e academia para discutir os desafios relacionados à água enfrentados pelas empresas no Brasil. Cleyton Cardoso abriu o evento com a palestra “Panorama sobre as questões dos Recursos Hídricos e o FAMA”.

Segundo ele, o lema do FAMA 2018 foi “Água é direito, não mercadoria”. Ele explica que o forum foi construido por movimentos sociais, povos e comunidades tradicionais, entidades sindicais, acadêmicos, agricultores familiars entre outros e reuniu cerca de 7 mil pessoas, de 17 a 22 de março de 2018, em Brasília.

“A respeito dos recursos hídricos no Brasil, foi gerado um documento chamado ‘Dossiê: Violações aos territórios tradicionais e crimes contra as águas’, expondo os riscos socioambientais e culturais no âmbito das bacias hidrográficas nas regiões do: Rio Doce, Rio Xingu, Rio Tapajós, Rio Araguaia/Pantanal, Rio Uraricoera, Rio Murucupi, Berço das Águas/ Centro Oeste, Costeiro-Marinho”, conta o engenheiro.

Ainda de acordo com Cleyton, os temas desenvolvidos nas palestras atingiram os objetivos de avançar na discussão, sensibilizar e compreender mais sobre as questões hídricas no Brasil e no mundo. “O evento ‘Dia Mundial da Água’ 2018 teve ótima qualidade técnica. Fiquei feliz por poder compartilhar um pouco do conhecimento e vivência adquiridas em Brasilia”, disse Cleyton sobre o encontro na FOC.
