JPS-SP realiza palestra em Registro/SP e coordenador vê potencial para o programa na região

Thomas Ribeiro de A. Ficarelli apresenta aos alunos que não há um único caminho possível, mas algumas dicas podem ajudar a trilhar um caminho de sucesso alicerçado em disciplina, ética e determinação;

Atendendo a um convite de Fábio Severo, presidente da ABES Subseção Vale do Ribeira, o JPS-SP promoveu, na sexta-feira, 21 de outubro, a palestra “Os Jovens Profissionais e os Desafios do Saneamento no Brasil” durante a V Semana Nacional de Ciência e Tecnologia no Instituto Federal de São Paulo Campus Registro/SP.

Ministrada pelo coordenador do JPS-SP, Thomas Ficarelli, a palestra apresentou os desafios do saneamento e oportunidades de atuação para os jovens profissionais. De forma simples e com uma linguagem objetiva, prendeu a atenção dos presentes que puderam participar ativamente fazendo perguntas e expondo suas opiniões sobre o atual cenário do saneamento no Brasil e no mundo. Na plateia estavam jovens e funcionários da Sabesp. O evento contou ainda com a presença do secretário Municipal de Desenvolvimento Agrário e de Meio Ambiente de Registro, Nelson Bazílio da Silva.

Para Fábio Severo, o encontro abre as portas para que o Vale do Ribeira crie um grupo de Jovens Profissionais do Saneamento. “O Saneamento Básico é um caminho de muitas oportunidades e prosperidade. Precisamos de jovens atuantes, que possam desenvolver vários projetos com a comunidade local”, ressalta Fábio. Ele também agradece toda a receptividade da professora Ronise Suzuki de Oliveira, coordenadora de Pesquisa e Inovação do Instituto Federal.

Além de falar do cenário no Brasil em geral, Thomas Ficarelli abordou as oportunidades específicas do Vale do Ribeira, sobre o que vem acontecendo no saneamento, como por exemplo, obras de esgotamento e drenagem urbana, que estão sendo demandadas, e aproveitamento de resíduos agrícolas, uma questão forte na região. “Registro tem muito potencial para criar o JPS, especialmente com a ajuda do presidente da Subseção, Fabio Severo, e da Sabesp. As instituições da região são muito bem articuladas, existe uma boa relação entre Prefeitura, Sabesp, Cetesb e outros órgãos. E existem locais potenciais para organização de visitas técnicas no Vale do ribeira, inclusive apoiados pelos profissionais da Sabesp, que estavam presentes no evento”, ressalta Thomas.

O coordenador do JPS-SP frisa ainda que a região tem grande oferta de água, uma das maiores do estado de São Paulo, e com características ambientais bastante favoráveis a serem exploradas pelos Jovens Profissionais do Saneamento Ambiental. “Minha impressão foi bastante positiva. Trata-se de uma cidade que está crescendo e se desenvolvendo. Além do Instituto Federal, onde ocorreu a palestra, há uma Unesp e será criado um novo Senai. Provavelmente será um polo de atração de vários jovens e áreas de conhecimento diferentes.”
