ABES participa da 4ª Reunião do GT do CONAMA para discussão sobre compostagem

A ABES foi representada na reunião por Geraldo Reichert, membro da seção gaucha da entidade

Nesta segunda-feira, 10, a Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental – ABES esteve presente na 4ª Reunião do Grupo de Trabalho (GT) para elaboração de “Proposta de Resolução CONAMA (Conselho Nacional do Meio Ambiente), que define critérios para a produção de composto de resíduos sólidos orgânicos”. O encontro conta com a participação de diversas instituições. A ABES foi representada por Geraldo Reichert, membro da Seção Rio Grande do Sul (ABES-RS).

A proposta inicial foi apresentada pelo Ministério do Meio Ambiente no início deste ano e tem como objetivo principal fomentar o desenvolvimento da compostagem de resíduos orgânicos no Brasil. Embora a proposta de Resolução englobe resíduos de todas as fontes, o foco é o desenvolvimento da compostagem dos orgânicos domiciliares.

Esta foi a penúltima reunião sobre o tema. Haverá outro encontro em novembro. Conforme explica Geraldo, a partir do fechamento desta proposta, esta será enviada para apreciação e aprovação da Câmara Técnica de Qualidade Ambiental e Resíduos Sólidos, Câmara Técnica de Assuntos Jurídicos e, finalmente, para o Plenário do CONAMA. “Espera-se que, com a aprovação desta resolução que define critério e procedimentos para a produção de composto proveniente de resíduos orgânicos, os procedimentos de licenciamento de unidade de compostagem no Brasil sejam uniformizados servindo assim para facilitar o uso desta prática no país”, ressalta o engenheiro.
