A ABES promoveu, na manhã desta sexta-feira, 14 de setembro, no Instituto de Engenharia, em São Paulo, o encontro “Propostas do Próximo Presidente para o Saneamento no Brasil”.
O evento de proposta para a Presidência contou com mediação do presidente nacional da ABES, Roberval Tavares de Souza, e participações dos representantes de três partidos: Jerson Kelman, representando o candidato Geraldo Alckmin, do PSDB; Edson Aparecido da Silva, por Fernando Haddad, do PT; e João Paulo Capobianco, por Marina Silva, da Rede. Ao final, foi entregue aos convidados o documento Proposta para o saneamento no Brasil aos candidatos à Presidência da República (acesse aqui o documento).

Os convidados receberam do presidente da ABES-SP o estudo Ranking ABES da Universalização do Saneamento, com ênfase no Estado de São Paulo. (acesse aqui o estudo).
Promovendo a democracia
Os debates sobre saneamento nos níveis nacional e do Estado de São Paulo receberam elogios dos participantes:
Para João Paulo Capobianco, representante de Marina Silva, foi um encontro de alto nível. “Agradeço esta oportunidade, tenho participado de vários debates e confesso que este aqui foi o mais produtivo deles porque aqui foi de fato uma discussão muito focada. A ABES vem comprovando um pro-ativismo muito centrado, baseado em informações consistentes, algo que de fato tenta ajudar o Brasil a dar um passo decisivo nesta questão, que é uma vergonha nacional, uma mancha em nossa história. Foi muito boa esta oportunidade, com perguntas produtivas, que nos ajudam a pensar, a aprimorar, uma campanha e um governo se beneficia exatamente com isso: Um debate, expondo suas ideias, se expondo e podendo interagir a receber as complementações, questionamentos que aprimoram as ações.”
“Agradeço à ABES pelo convite, em nome da coordenação da campanha. Tenho vários amigos na plateia, porque fui por 40 anos funcionário da Sabesp. É uma alegria muito grande pra mim. Espero ter podido contribuir, na medida do possível, com o debate”, afirmou Edson Aparecido, que representou o candidato Fernando Haddad.
“Quero iniciar esta fala final festejando o ambiente desta discussão. O Brasil tem ficado muito polarizado. Nós polarizamos demais nossa sociedade com grave risco à democracia. Quem viveu a ditadura sabe que é melhor preservarmos esta preciosidade. E aqui nós praticamos a democracia. Podemos ter divergências sobre como chegar, mas não temos dúvida de onde queremos chegar. E queremos chegar numa sociedade mais justa, em que todos tenham acesso ao saneamento”, finalizou Jerson Kelman, representante do candidato Geraldo Alckmin.
A iniciativa da ABES foi saudada também entre os convidados do debate pelo Governo de São Paulo:
Uma iniciativa extraordinária. É através desse tipo de encontro que podemos aperfeiçoar projetos e diretrizes. É claro que existem as opiniões divergentes, dependendo do partido mas isso faz parte da democracia, a gente poder ouvir, entender e defender nossos pontos de vista. E a ABES, com esta iniciativa, permitiu que pudéssemos expor nossos pontos de vista”, afirmou Milton Santos, que representou o candidato João Dória.
A Professora Lisete, candidata do PSOL ao Governo, ressaltou a oportunidade dada pela ABES aos candidatos ao governo estadual. “Foi muito democrático, tivemos espaço para expor as nossas ideias e sugiro que a ABES elabore uma proposta ao governo Estadual.”
Para José Carlos, que representou o candidato Márcio França, foi um evento extremamente oportuno. “A ABES, como sempre, está comprometida com as questões do saneamento, não só o saneamento básico, mas ambiental, com pessoas comprometidas, envolvendo sociedade, questões governamentais, comitês de bacia, trazendo pessoas de uma forma respeitosa, discutindo com profundidade e profissionalismo. Sinto-me lisonjeado de estar participando e contribuindo com aquilo que aprendi com as pessoas vendo, ouvindo e fazendo, pois sou ligado ao saneamento. A ABES está de parabéns.”
“Parabéns à ABES, foi uma iniciativa muito importante. Ao nos aproximarmos do momento em que a sociedade deverá escolher seu futuro governante, é importante que as pessoas saibam o que as pessoas pensam em cada aspecto. Porque uma coisa é o candidato, de uma maneira televisiva, falar rapidamente sobre um tema ou outro. A outra, é que ele encaminhe suas propostas em vários temas para que as pessoas tomem conhecimento, analisem a proposta de cada um, observem as diferenças e tomem a decisão sobre quem acham que é melhor”, disse Eduardo San Martin, que representou Paulo Skaf.
