Semana do Meio Ambiente: JPS-BA promove ação solidária em Salvador

O programa Jovens Profissionais do Saneamento da ABES Seção Bahia (JPS/ABES-BA), em parceria com o Centro Universitário Jorge Amado, realizou na semana passada, de 5 a 9 de junho, na capital baiana, a Semana Solidária.

O objetivo da iniciativa (que comemorou a Semana do Meio Ambiente) foi arrecadar, além de alimentos, também produtos de higiene pessoal e roupas, que serão doados para o Lar Vida, localizado no bairro de Canabrava, em Salvador. A entidade cuida de crianças autistas, com Síndrome de Down, deformidades e má formação do cérebro. Cerca de 113 pessoas vivem no abrigo, desde recém-nascidos a adultos com 35 anos.

“Nessa semana do meio ambiente decidimos olhar pro lado e ajudar”, ressaltou o coordenador do JPS-BA, Albert Porto. “Nós, que pregamos tanto a preservação do Meio Ambiente, a qualidade de vida e o cuidado com nossos recursos naturais, muitas vezes deixamos de lado esse cuidado com o próximo”, pontuou ele. “Nós, do JPS Bahia, em todos nossos eventos já temos o costume de arrecadar alimentos não perecíveis como forma de incentivar essa responsabilidade social”, lembrou Albert. “Nossa missão aqui é só uma: ser a diferença sempre, servir onde quer que seja”, concluiu.
