JPS-SP: ações em comemoração ao Dia Mundial da Água

O Programa Jovens Profissionais do Saneamento Seção São Paulo (JPS-SP) vem desenvolvendo nos últimos anos ações voluntárias em comemoração ao Dia Mundial da Água (22 de março).

Este ano, durante o mês de março, os jovens realizaram ações para difundir a importância da gestão e do uso racional da água, bem como para estimular os integrantes do JPS a aprimorar suas capacidades profissionais em lidar com o público e entrar em contato com novas instituições.

No dia 21, o JPS George Souza, engenheiro ambiental e agente ambiental do Programa Ambientes Verdes e Saudáveis do SUS, realizou uma palestra na Universidade Estácio – Unidade Jabaquara, em São Paulo, sobre os desafios do saneamento básico em um comunidade da zona leste da cidade. Ele compartilha sua visão de que “o Dia Mundial da Água deve ser um evento para a formação de cidadãos críticos” e relata sua experiência: “A Universidade Estácio me recebeu de braços abertos. Acredito que o papel da ABES e dos integrantes do JPS é fundamental na evolução de políticas públicas. Agradeço pelo convite para mostrar que o Dia da Água é uma oportunidade de promover essa evolução!”.

Além dele, estava presente o coordenador adjunto do JPS-SP, Gustavo Paranhos, que apresentou ao público as principais atividades que o Programa vem desenvolvendo e convidou os interessados a participar.

No dia 23, na Estácio – Santo Amaro, a tecnóloga em Saneamento Maria Fernanda Garrubo realizou uma palestra sobre reuso de água, tema tratado em seu Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso na FATEC-SP. “Foi ótimo. Fiquei muito feliz, apesar de um pouco nervosa mesmo dominando o assunto. Tive mais tempo para falar. Fizeram muitas perguntas, inclusive sobre o JPS. Ficaram meio chocados com algumas coisas que não sabiam sobre o saneamento e recebi incentivos da professora Camila para um dia dar aula também” relata a jovem profissional.

Com o mais engajamento do JPS da capital com jovens das demais cidades do estado, foi possível promover neste ano atividades em novos locais. No dia 21 de março, em Santos, no litoral paulista, o engenheiro ambiental Cleyton Cardoso ministrou uma palestra ao público da UNIFESP a respeito de saneamento em comunidades isoladas, tratando especificamente de banheiros secos, jardins filtrantes, vermifiltros e fossas sépticas biodigestoras. “A técnica mais adequada deve ser estudada de caso a caso, de acordo com o bioma brasileiro onde tais métodos serão aplicados, exercendo influencia direta no desempenho do sistema biológico”, explica o engenheiro.

No dia 22, na Faculdade UNIOESTE, em Presidente Prudente, a estudante de Engenharia Ambiental Jakeline Jesus Silva realizou uma palestra sobre o JPS, no intuito de convidar os jovens a participar da gestão e organização do novo núcleo JPS que está para se formar na região, em parceria com o Centro Acadêmico da universidade. Houve também uma palestra sobre reúso de água, organizada pelos próprios estudantes do local.

Alunos da UNIOESTE no Dia Mundial da Água

Os estudantes da FATEC-SP Thais Goya (Tecnologia em Hidráulica, Saneamento e Meio Ambiente) e Fellipe Peduto Cunha (Tecnologia em Edifícios) compareceram na unidade Cajamar da Votorantim Cimentos no dia 22 para falar sobre uso consciente da água. “Foi uma excelente oportunidade de aprendizado passar a manhã na Fábrica de Argamassas da Votorantim e conhecer todas as suas iniciativas sustentáveis, assim como trocar experiências relacionadas aos nossos recursos hídricos”, conta Thais. “O engenheiro ambientalista Paulo, a estagiária Paloma e toda a equipe Votorantim nos acolheram de braços abertos, o que nos proporcionou total liberdade para expor nossas ideias e uma discussão sobre simples mudanças para adotarmos no nosso cotidiano, em favor desse dia tão especial, o Dia Mundial da Água. Poder conversar com os colaboradores sobre a importância desse recurso hídrico e as consequências do descarte irregular de resíduos sólidos nos trouxe esperança de que conseguiremos aproveitar a água, com sabedoria, consciência e, principalmente, educação para a sua adequada gestão”.

No dia 23, a tecnóloga em Saneamento e funcionária da SABESP Cintia Elena Nicolau compareceu em outra unidade da Votorantim Cimentos, localizada no município de Barueri. Havia no local cerca de 25 funcionários, uma representante dos recursos humanos e uma da área ambiental. Cintia falou sobre uso consciente da água. “Foi bem interativa a palestra, eles foram fazendo perguntas durante a mesma e contando um pouco da realidade deles. Agradeço pela oportunidade.

A última ação do JPS ocorreu no dia 29, na Escola Estadual Antoine Saint Exupéry em São Paulo. A estudante de Engenharia Ambiental Paloma Campos e a bióloga e tecnóloga em Saneamento Patrícia Hassato realizaram palestras para o público infantil. As jovens profissionais explicaram a relação que existe entre a febre amarela e o falta de saneamento para sete turmas, sendo quatro classes do 6º ano e três salas do 9º. “É interessante os alunos saberem sobre o saneamento, ainda mais por não terem a informação completa e de sua dimensão, como exemplo a questão dos resíduos sólidos e da drenagem urbana, que são menos lembrados, assim como as relações do saneamento com a saúde pública e a proliferação de mosquitos e casos de surtos, como o da febre amarela”, explica a professora Patrícia.

Para Thomas Ficarelli, coordenador do JPS-SP, as ações voluntárias são uma ótima oportunidade de crescimento, tanto para os integrantes do programa, como para o público. “Primeiramente, a comunidade que recebe os jovens do JPS tem a vantagem de ter contato com uma pessoa nova no cotidiano, que tem alto conhecimento sobre usos e tecnologias da água. Podem aprender e fazer perguntas. Por outro, o jovem profissional se conscientiza da importância de seu conhecimento in-loco, desenvolve a capacidade de oratória e se encontra com o professor que existe dentro de cada um de nós. Trata-se de uma forma de desenvolver e capacitar os jovens em situações reais e de aproximar os laços deles diretamente com as instituições, bem como retribuir à sociedade os valores do JPS e da ABES quanto aos cuidados com a água.”

As ações voluntárias são mais expressivas nesse período, mas o JPS se mantém à disposição para realizar palestras em escolas, empresas, faculdades, espaços públicos e demais interessados ao longo de todo o ano.
