Nesta terça-feira, dia 25, a Câmara Técnica de Saneamento e Saúde em Comunidades Isoladas (CTCI) da Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental – Seção São Paulo (ABES-SP) recebeu o engenheiro Cristiano von Steinkirch de Oliveira para apresentar a palestra ‘Alternativas para o saneamento de comunidades isoladas: um olhar sobre o jardim filtrante e o banheiro seco’, durante sua Reunião Ordinária, realizada na sede da entidade.
Na ocasião, Cristiano, que é Graduado em Engenharia Ambiental pela Escola de Engenharia de São Carlos da Universidade de São Paulo (EESC/USP) e atua como Engenheiro Ambiental no Serviço Municipal de Águas e Esgotos (SEMAE) de Mogi das Cruzes, apresentou dois estudos de caso para os membros da câmara.
Primeiramente, o engenheiro falou sobre o estudo de caso realizado como seu projeto de conclusão de curso, onde avaliou o desempenho do jardim filtrante construído de fluxo subsuperficial, modelo utilizado pela Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária (Embrapa), para o tratamento de águas cinzas em uma residência rural.
Em seguida, Cristiano apresentou o Projeto Banheiros Mudam Vidas, uma iniciativa da empresa Kimberly-Clark e da Unicef, da qual o engenheiro faz parte, que tem como objetivo melhorar as condições de higiene e saúde no Brasil por meio do saneamento básico. A ação promoveu a construção de banheiros secos em Milagres, no Maranhão, cidade com o pior índice de saneamento básico no Brasil, segundo o Plano Nacional de Saneamento Básico (Plansab). “A tecnologia dos banheiros secos foi escolhida para ser aplicada na região por atender ao propósito do projeto de desenvolver uma solução simples, adaptada à realidade da comunidade em questão”, explica.
Cristiano ainda ressaltou que não só o aspecto técnico foi planejado na ação, como também o social. “Este é um ótimo estudo de caso para ser comentado, pois os desafios enfrentados foram muito interessantes”.
