A quarta sessão especial do Congresso da ABES 2021 aconteceu nesta quarta-feira, 29 de setembro. Promovida pela Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental – ABES, por meio do programa ABES Conecta, o penúltimo debate de aquecimento rumo ao mais importante evento de saneamento ambiental do Brasil teve como tema “Cidades Inteligentes e sustentáveis”.
Transmitida pelo canal da ABES no YouTube, a sessão foi dividida em dois painéis e teve como moderador o Prof. Dr. Arlindo Philipp, do Instituto de Estudos Avançados da Faculdade de Saúde Pública da Universidade de São Paulo (USP).
A primeira discussão tratou do tema “Cidades globais e os ODS 2030: parcerias e meios de implementação”, com a participação de Marcos S. Buckeridge, Prof. Dr. do Instituto de Estudos Avançados e Instituto de Biociência da Universidade de São Paulo (USP); Selma A. Cubas, Profª Drª. da Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR) e presidente da ABES-PR; Pedro Jacobi, Prof. Dr. do Instituto de Energia e Ambiente da Universidade de São Paulo (USP); e Roberto Pacheco, Prof. Dr. da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC).
O professor Buckeridg falou sobre as características sistêmicas da gestão integrada das cidades sustentáveis, programa que ele participa como um dos coordenadores no Centro de Síntese USP-Cidades Globais. Selma comentou as evoluções que vêm acontecendo em Curitiba com parcerias e meios para implementação dos ODS e os pontos em que ainda requer maior atenção. Pedro Jacobi destacou a relação do nexo água, energia, alimentos, com os ODS e os impactos que as mudanças climáticas causam. Roberto Pacheco abordou as formas de levar os ODS às localidades, a necessidade de capacitação dos agentes públicos (governamental e privado) e o programa CEURS.
Os palestrantes reforçaram a importância do desenvolvimento de projetos para maior interação entre academia, setor público, setor empresarial e sociedade civil.
E o segundo painel levantou questões sobre “Desafios da implementação dos Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável para promover cidades inteligentes e sustentáveis”. Os palestrantes foram Maria do Carmo Sobral, Profª. Dra. da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE); Carlos A. Cioce Sampaio, Prof. Dr. da Universidade Regional de Blumenau (FURB); Tatiana Tucunduva P. Cortese, Profª. Drª do Instituto de Estudos Avançados da Universidade de São Paulo (USP); e Valdir Fernandes, Prof. Dr. da Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná (UTFPR).
Na ocasião, professora Maria do Carmo pontuou os desafios da sustentabilidade nas cidades e como cada setor pode contribuir para a evolução. O especialista Carlos Sampaio falou sobre os trabalhos que vêm sendo feitos nos cursos de pós-graduação para os avanços na incorporação dos ODS. Tatiana Tucunduva destacou as cidades inteligentes e sustentáveis e sua ligação com a transformação digital sustentável e o desenvolvimento urbano sustentável. Já o professor Valdir Fernandes discorreu sobre a vertente da municipalização (localização) dos ODS.
