Coordenadora de saúde explica ações adotadas em Tapejara/RS para descarte de resíduos domiciliares durante pandemia

Enfermeira sanitarista Ana Paula Sestari fala sobre orientações feitas à população para prevenção do vírus e descarte adequado de materiais contaminados

A pandemia do novo coronavírus exigiu dos municípios brasileiros – e de todo o mundo – respostas rápidas para conter a proliferação da doença entre a população. O município de Tapejara, localizado no Rio Grande do Sul, por exemplo, adotou diversas medidas para orientar as pessoas quanto à prevenção da covid-19 e ao descarte de resíduos contaminados ou suspeitos oriundos de pessoas contaminadas em isolamento domiciliar.

Uma das estratégias aplicadas foi a disponibilização de sacos especiais para os cidadãos descartarem de forma segura materiais infectados e, após o fim do isolamento, entregarem à unidade de saúde mais próxima para ter a destinação correta, seguindo todos os protocolos de segurança.

Outra ação importante foi a criação do Tele Coronavírus, no qual a população pode tirar dúvidas por telefone e receber instruções de um enfermeiro em caso de sintomas da doença.

Em entrevista ao ABES Notícias, a enfermeira sanitarista Ana Paula Sestari, coordenadora das Unidades de Saúde de Tapejara, dá mais detalhes sobre como o munícipio vem trabalhando para frear a disseminação do coronavírus e assegurar o descarte e destinação adequada dos resíduos em época de pandemia.

Ana Paula também falou sobre o assunto no webinar “Gestão dos resíduos na pandemia da covid-19: lições aprendidas e desafios para o setor de resíduos”, promovido no programa ABES Conecta pela Câmara Temática da ABES de Resíduos Sólidos, em 14 de dezembro, reunindo diversos especialistas no tema. ABES Notícias – Quais estratégias foram adotadas pelo município para evitar a proliferação da covid-19 entre a população?

Ana Paula Sestari – Assim como o mundo todo, lá no início da pandemia estávamos também sem muita ideia de como tudo se comportaria, quais ações e medidas deveríamos tomar para combater ou amenizar a disseminação do vírus.

Mas já de início realizamos uma grande divulgação por meio das mídias, com orientações sobre uso de máscara, higienização das mãos, sintomas suspeitos para covid-19 e a importância de ficar em casa, entre outras orientações.

Ressaltamos algumas ações realizadas pelas Agentes Comunitárias de Saúde com orientações nas casas, ações em empresas feitas pela Secretaria da Saúde e a obrigatoriedade do uso de máscara através de decreto, que também impôs outras medidas restritivas. Isso possibilitou que a rede de saúde se preparasse com equipe e EPIs para poder atender a população.

Também teve a criação do Tele Coronavírus, um telefone celular funcionando das 8h às 20h, com enfermeiro habilitado para esclarecer dúvidas, prestar atendimento e orientações pertinentes.

ABES Notícias – Como foi feita a orientação para coleta e manejo de resíduos gerados por pacientes em isolamento domiciliar?

Ana Paula Sestari – Nossa preocupação com os resíduos gerados por pacientes suspeitos e positivos para covid-19 fez com que pensássemos uma forma de recolhermos e dar destino para estes materiais.

Foi aí que adquirimos certa quantidade de sacos especiais para descarte destes lixos e iniciamos uma ampla divulgação utilizando as mídias, junto com os termos de isolamento de pacientes com orientações de como proceder.

Ou seja, o paciente leva seu saco de resíduo para casa, onde descarta materiais como papel, lenços, máscaras descartáveis e todos aqueles inservíveis que estejam contaminados. Ao fim do isolamento, ele leva até uma unidade de saúde, que faz o encaminhamento final correto.

ABES Notícias – Como você avalia a importância da adoção destas medidas para conter o contágio do coronavírus?

Ana Paula Sestari – Sabendo que o vírus pode permanecer ativo por tempos diferentes nos diferentes materiais existentes, tenho a certeza de que o objetivo, como já citei anteriormente, foi alcançado.

Além de promovermos saúde, estamos prevenindo a disseminação, pois aquele profissional que trabalha no dia a dia no recolhimento dos resíduos nas ruas não foi contaminado, e aquele profissional que trabalha na separação final também não. Com isso, tenho convicção de que fizemos pelo bem e deu certo.

Ana Paula Sestari – Precisamos agradecer a comunidade tapejarense que aceitou muito bem esta ideia. Temos certeza de que o objetivo final de não contaminar todos os demais resíduos gerados na residência e dar o destino correto para eles foi atingido. Quanto a isso, gratidão à população!
