Economia Circular: um bate-papo com Nivaldo Rodrigues, coordenador do Tema 2 da Brazil Water Week

Esta edição do mais importante evento internacional sobre água realizado no país será online, de 23 a 27 de maio, em plataforma exclusiva e interativa, com 20 painéis, e participantes de cerca de 50 instituições parceiras do Brasil e do exterior.

Cada vez mais a economia circular tem se tornado uma realidade no setor saneamento, principalmente nos processos relacionados ao esgotamento sanitário e resíduos sólidos. Este é um dos assuntos que serão discutidos no Brazil Water Week 2022 (Semana da Água do Brasil), o mais importante evento internacional sobre água realizado no país pela Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental – ABES.

Esta edição será online, de 23 a 27 de maio, em plataforma exclusiva e interativa, com 20 painéis, e participantes de cerca de 50 instituições parceiras do Brasil e do exterior.

O Portal ABES Notícias conversou com o coordenador deste tema, umas das novidades da BWW 2022, Nivaldo Rodrigues da Costa Junior, vice-presidente da ABES-SP e superintendente da Unidade de Negócio de Tratamento de Esgotos da Diretoria Metropolitana da Sabesp. Segundo ele, serão abordados os avanços tecnológicos e também a necessidade de políticas públicas para fomentar o avanço da economia circular no saneamento. “Muitas práticas já consolidadas pelo mundo servem de estímulo para o nosso pensar criativo e a nossa evolução”, provoca o coordenador.

Portal ABES Notícias – Quais serão os principais pontos da discussão sobre economia circular?

Nivaldo Rodrigues – Discutiremos como a Economia Circular pode ser um vetor de desenvolvimento do saneamento, tendo como premissa a transformação de resíduos provenientes do processo de saneamento em recursos que podem ser reinseridos na cadeia produtiva e agregar valor para a sociedade. Abordaremos também aspectos relacionados aos resíduos sólidos, seus desafios e oportunidades.

Portal ABES Notícias Na área do saneamento, quais são os avanços tecnológicos no que diz respeito à economia circular?

Nivaldo Rodrigues – Tivemos vários avanços no setor saneamento no tocante ao desenvolvimento da Economia Circular. Estamos evoluindo tecnologicamente com equipamentos para a produção de água de reúso, beneficiamento do lodo proveniente das estações de tratamento e também tendo o biogás como uma importante fonte de energia. Com o avanço da utilização destas tecnologias conseguiremos melhores resultados operacionais e preços mais competitivos, possibilitando assim um círculo virtuoso para este segmento.

Nivaldo Rodrigues – Temos espaço para evoluir em várias frentes, mas ressalto a necessidade de termos mais políticas públicas de incentivo à Economia Circular. Com a evolução deste fator, associado ao potencial tecnológico, nós teremos avanços significativos.
