JPS-MS participa de Simpósio Brasileiro de Wetlands Construídos

O programa Jovens Profissionais do Saneamento – JPS da Seção Mato Grosso do Sul da ABES (ABES-MS) foi um dos apoiadores da terceira edição do Simpósio Brasileiro de Wetlands Construídos, que aconteceu entre os dias 23 e 25 de maio, em Campo Grande/MS. O evento, que reuniu empresas do setor, concessionárias de água e esgoto, universitários e professores de quase todo o Brasil para discutir o tema, foi realizado na Universidade Católica Dom Bosco – UCDB e também contou com a parceria da seção mato-grossense da ABES.

O objetivo do simpósio foi fortalecer a atuação dos grupos de pesquisa na área de wetlands construídos e consolidar a troca de experiências entre as universidades brasileiras e internacionais, profissionais liberais, empresas ligadas ao ramo da Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental e ONGs, que desenvolvem estudos e projetos no controle da poluição hídrica, mais especificamente no tratamento natural de efluentes.

Para o coordenador do JPS-MS, Fernando Magalhães Filho, que é também professor na UCDB, “o grupo Wetlands Brasil está amadurecendo bastante”. Foram mais de 130 trabalhos inscritos (autorais e pôsteres), segundo ele.

“O evento foi bastante produtivo”, frisou Fernando, que destacou a palestra de Carlos Arias, da Dinamarca – Aarhus University, que abordou “Aspectos gerais, experiências internacionais (Europa, China, Índia), normatização de wetlands construídos empregados no tratamento de águas residuárias”. “São mais de 25 anos trabalhando com experiências verticais”, disse ele.

“Estamos avançando em temas cada vez mais novos. Espero que logo possamos ter uma revista de abrangência internacional voltada para esta área e que a aula de pós-graduação esteja cada vez mais envolvida para trazer pessoas de fora para trabalhar com a gente”, afirmou Fernando Magalhães. “Trabalhamos muito bem e precisamos escrever mais e mostrar mais o que estamos fazendo”, complementou.

Nesta sexta, 24, haverá ainda duas Visitas Técnicas: na Unidade experimental de saneamento focado em recursos (Sistemas naturais + Separação de efluentes domésticos); e Pós-tratamento de UASB (ETE Los Angeles – esgoto + lixiviado de aterro).
