Representantes da ABES, professores Eduardo Pacheco Jordão e Miguel Fernández, tomam posse na Academia Nacional de Engenharia

Cerimônia foi realizada nesta terça-feira, 26 de abril, durante evento de comemoração de 30 anos da ANE.

Nesta terça-feira, 26 de abril, foram empossados como Membros Titulares da Academia Nacional de Engenharia (ANE) os professores Eduardo Pacheco Jordão, sócio-fundador da ABES, e Miguel Fernández y Fernández, ambos representantes da ABES-Rio junto ao Conselho Diretor em âmbito nacional. 

A solenidade foi realizada no Auditório Tamandaré da Escola de Guerra Naval, no Rio de Janeiro, durante a celebração de 30 anos da Academia. 

O ingresso na ANE é feito por indicação dos membros titulares, que enviam os nomes junto com uma apresentação para o presidente. A relação é encaminhada para a Comissão de Seleção, que avalia os currículos e seleciona os novos membros a partir de critérios pré-estabelecidos.

Os nomes selecionados são submetidos à Comissão de Ética, que faz uma nova análise dos futuros membros e encaminha a lista, com suas recomendações, para eleição em Assembleia Geral Extraordinária.

Sobre o professor Eduardo Pacheco Jordão

Eduardo Pacheco Jordão é Engenheiro Civil pela Universidade do Brasil, atual UFRJ. Master of Science em Engenharia Civil, ênfase em Engenharia Sanitária, University of Wisconsin, USA. Doutor em Engenharia, ênfase Engenharia Hidráulica, Escola Politécnica da USP. Professor Visitante Emérito da Escola Politécnica da UFRJ. Autor do livro “Tratamento de Esgotos Domésticos” (em sua 8ª edição, 15 mil cópias vendidas). Sócio-fundador e membro do Conselho Diretor da ABES. Agraciado com o título de “WEF Fellow” pela Water Environment Federation (USA). Consultor em projetos aplicados à engenharia sanitária e ambiental, com ênfase no tratamento de águas residuárias, reúso de efluentes e controle de poluição das águas.

Sobre o professor Miguel Fernández y Fernández

Miguel Fernández y Fernández é engenheiro civil, pós graduado em engenharia de Irrigação pelo Instituto de Hidrologia de Madrid, é professor, diretor regional do Instituto de Engenharia do Rio de Janeiro e autor de diversos artigos e obras publicadas. Eduardo Jordão é doutor em Engenharia Civil pela Universidade de São Paulo, professor associado da UFRJ, e é um dos mais destacados especialistas na área de tratamento de esgotos do Brasil.

ANE, 30 anos

A ANE foi criada por um grupo de engenheiros que acreditaram na necessidade de uma instituição nacional que detivesse prestígio próprio, cobrindo todas as disciplinas da Engenharia e se fizesse habilitada a promover o aprimoramento da importância, da necessidade e do valor da Engenharia Brasileira, como fonte insubstituível na produção e distribuição dos produtos e dos benefícios da tecnologia, favorecendo à Sociedade como um todo.
