A Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental – ABES estará presente no 8º Fórum Mundial da Água, de 18 a 23 de março em Brasília/DF, não apenas inserida em sessões do evento internacional, mas como uma das entidades coordenadoras da programação temática.
A ABES – Diretoria Nacional e a ABES Seção São Paulo (ABES-SP) participam da Seção Brasil do Conselho Mundial da Água, organismo que promove o Fórum (veja abaixo). O engenheiro Alceu Guérios Bittencourt, membro do Conselho Diretor da ABES-SP, é um dos quatro brasileiros que integram o Comitê Temático do 8º Fórum, ao lado de quatro nomes de outros países. Este comitê é responsável por toda a programação do Fórum, cuja preparação é estruturada em quatro processos (Temático, Político, Regional e Fórum Cidadão) e um grupo focal (Sustentabilidade). A ABES está inserida no Processo Temático e também tem participação no Processo Regional (saiba mais no site do Fórum http://www.worldwaterforum8.org/pt-br).
O Processo Temático é estruturado em nove Temas: seis principais (Clima, Pessoas, Desenvolvimento, Urbano, Ecossistemas e Financiamento) e três transversais (Compartilhamento, Capacitação e Governança).
No Grupo de Coordenação Temática, entre os nove temas do evento, Carlos Alberto Rosito, vice-presidente nacional da ABES, representa a ABES no tema “Urbano”.
Entre os coordenadores de tópicos e sessões temáticas, Marisa Guimarães, diretora da ABES-SP, coordena o tópico “Saneamento” dentro do tema “Pessoas” e Renato Giani Ramos, coordenador da Câmara Temática de Dessalinização e Reúso da ABES, participa no tema “Reúso”. Fernando Gomes da Silva, da ABES-SP, fará apresentação em sessão ordinária do tema Reúso.

Lançamento da Rio Water Week
A ABES promoverá, durante o Fórum, o road show de lançamento da Rio Water Week, evento internacional que será realizado no rio de janeiro de 26 a 28 de novembro. O road show acontecerá no dia 20 de março, terça-feira, das 18h às 20h, na Ala Sul – Sala 41 do Centro de Convenções Ulisses Guimarães, em Brasília. www.riowaterweek.com.br
Sobre o 8º Fórum
O Fórum Mundial da Água acontece a cada três anos e é uma iniciativa do Conselho Mundial da Água, uma organização internacional com sede em Marselha, na França, composta por representantes de governos, academia, sociedade civil, empresas e organizações não governamentais, formando um significativo espectro de instituições relacionadas com o tema água. Atualmente, o Conselho é presidido pelo brasileiro Benedito Braga, secretário de Saneamento e Recursos Hídricos do Estado de São Paulo.
No Brasil, o Fórum é organizado pelo Conselho Mundial da Água (WWC), pelo Ministério do Meio Ambiente (MMA), representado pela Agência Nacional das Águas (ANA), e pelo Governo do Distrito Federal, representado pela Agência Reguladora de Águas, Energia e Saneamento do Distrito Federal (Adasa).
