Transmissão online promovida pela ABES-RS reúne ainda representantes da Corsan, Fiergs e Farsul

A estiagem que atinge o Estado do Rio Grande do Sul foi tema de um debate online promovido nesta quarta, 17 de junho, pela Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Sanitária e Ambiental – ABES Seção Rio Grande do Sul (ABES-RS) no programa ABES Conecta.
Transmitido pelo YouTube, o webinar “Rio Grande do Sul: estiagem, gestão da crise e perspectivas do futuro” contou com palestra do Secretário do Meio Ambiente e Infraestrutura do Rio Grande do Sul, Artur de Lemos Junior. O debate reuniu ainda o diretor de Operações da Companhia Riograndense de Saneamento (Corsan), André Finamor, o analista técnico da Federação das Indústrias do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul (FIERGS), Tiago José Pereira Neto, e o coordenador da Comissão de Meio Ambiente da Federação da Agricultura do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul (Farsul), Domingos Velho Campos. O Secretário destacou a parceria de trabalho com a Corsan e informou que uma série de medidas foram tomadas pelo governo do Estado do RS para o enfrentamento da seca que atinge o estado, priorizando, segundo ele, o abastecimento de água para consumo humano. Entre as iniciativas adotadas, estão: regularização/perfuração dos poços artesianos e das outorgas de água, monitoramento dos rios e das bacias hidrográficas, manutenção das barragens, recuperação das nascentes, investimentos e otimização dos recursos.
De acordo com Artur de Lemos Junior, novas ações serão anunciadas em breve. “Estamos em treinamento com a Agência Nacional das Águas (ANA) para melhoria das políticas públicas”, afirmou.
Domingos Velho Campos discorreu sobre o cenário da agricultura que sofreu um prejuízo de R$17 bilhões devido à estiagem. Para ele, uma das soluções para enfrentar o problema é o armazenamento de água. “A estiagem é um problema recorrente, não podemos perder milhões de toneladas no setor da agropecuária. A irrigação e o armazenamento de água são temas de interesse social para a solução do problema”, reiterou Campos.
André Finamor apresentou as ações adotadas pela companhia para combater a estiagem e evitar o racionamento de água. Criamos um plano de contingência para cada município com monitoramento online dos rios e da meteorologia. Trabalhamos nas barragens para duplicarmos o armazenamento de água para o próximo verão. A Corsan prevê investir R$340 mi para reduzir a estiagem até 2022″, informou o diretor.
Tiago José Pereira Neto ressaltou que a estiagem é um ponto característico do Rio Grande do Sul e que é preciso “trabalhar a segurança hídrica e o consumo consciente. A melhor forma de reservar é utilizar a água de reúso. Temos excelentes práticas que viabilizam e reforçam o processo”.
